My Western WIP

Thanks for visiting my blog! My western is nearly finished - yay! I've enjoyed writing this so much :) With a bit of luck the editing process will go smoothly and I will be ready to submit it to the publisher soon!

She felt something cold and hard pressed against the side of her head and she gasped as she realised it was a gun. Frank had her held fast against him, she couldn’t escape. He was using her as a shield – there was no way Johnny, or anyone else, would risk shooting Frank now, for fear of shooting her by mistake. Her breath caught in her throat and she started to panic. Run Johnny! Run! She wanted to yell, but she couldn’t make her voice work, she was too scared for Johnny. It was Johnny Frank wanted, not her; if Johnny ran, she would be safe enough, Frank would let her go eventually.
“Let her go.” The voice was harsh, spoken barely above a whisper, but there was no mistaking it – it was Johnny. “Let her go Frank. Your quarrel’s with me, not her.”
“Is it?” Frank’s voice was dangerously soft, and he pressed the barrel of the gun hard against her head. “If I kill her we’ll be even – my brother for your wife.”

:)                 Lonely grave along the Oregon Trail, reads "Dunn, 1849".

  2. Hot, pistol packing cowboys. Women who always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Danger, intrigue, revenge! I so love a good western! This one sounds great, Kelly.

  3. Oh no! I predict that once this is all settled, she is going to get one hell of a punishment spanking from Johnny. Great snippet and good luck with finishing the rest of your book!
